Overview of STREAM

Seton Catholic School is a nationally recognized school where students have a tradition of excelling in Reading and Math. In 2013, we introduced our new STREAM program featuring classrooms emphasizing integrated instruction in Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts & Math.

What is STREAM?

At its surface, STREAM education, is an integrated approach of teaching and learning in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math. Through STREAM students are actively engaged with the content and materials. At its core, STREAM is about moving forward, solving problems, learning, and pushing innovation to the next level.

Why STREAM?

STREAM education creates critical thinkers, increases science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators. Innovation leads to new products and processes that sustain our economy. This innovation and science literacy depends on a solid knowledge base in the STEM areas. It is clear that most jobs of the future will require a basic understanding of math and science— 10-year employment projections by the U.S. Department of Labor show that of the 20 fastest growing occupations projected for 2014, 15 of them require significant mathematics or science preparation. It is imperative that as a nation, we make STREAM education a top priority. Seton Catholic School is ready for the task!
