In 1985 the first mass was celebrated in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Eleven years later a survey was conducted to establish the need for a new school- with 68% of the respondents supporting building a new school. In August of 1998 SEAS School Steering committee formed. After a long process of zone changes, paperwork, the United in Faith Campaign and parking lots being built, SEAS had a groundbreaking ceremony in July of 2004 for the school construction to begin. Through the United in Faith Campaign, all of the Catholic parishes in Fayette County contributed financially to the building of the school.
Seton Catholic School’s first School Board was formed in September of 2004. After long hours of hard work, registration for the first year began that November. Seton Catholic School was completed in June of 2005 and opened the doors in August for 307 students Pre-K through Eighth Grade. Athletic programs, a wide variety of extra-curricular programs, and programs that support the Arts and Humanities have helped to make Seton an outstanding school.
